NEW YORK CENTRAL 3 New York Central 3 is planning a set of one-way transcontinental and local trips this fall. The first will go to the West Coast in early September for the America’s Cup Races in San Francisco. Next will be a trip on the Coast Starlight to Seattle with a several-day layover in Portland. Then we hope to join the AAPRCO Napa Valley Ltd. special train to the AAPRCO convention in Napa, CA and on to Los Angeles. The car would return to the East Coast with layovers in San Diego, Los Angeles and Oakland. This is Plan A. However, if too few passengers sign up for the AAPRCO trip, then the car will depart the Bay Area immediately after the America’s Cup races and return to New York with layovers in Portland and Whitefish, MT. In addition, the car is scheduled to park in Oakland for 8-10 days, during which time it will be available for personalized charters with none of the normal “positioning fees”. The proposed trips are based on selling space to individual passengers, but if a single client wishes to charter the entire car for any of the transcontinental movements, the route and dates of travel can be tailored to their desires. Please see our website at www.nyc-3.com for details about the car and for contact information. Please see this document for details of the trips. Fares are not finalized at this time but will be about $3,499 per person, double occupancy in double bedroom. Roomettes, suites and a deluxe suite are also available. $50 per person discount for payment by check or money order. We also accept VISA, MasterCard and Discover credit cards.
