Policy 2008 AAPRCO CONVENTION TRAIN AAPRCO sponsors an annual convention train and may sponsor other special trains as authorized by the Board of Directors. AAPRCO sponsored trains are operated for the benefit of AAPRCO members. All passengers participating in an AAPRCO sponsored train must be an AAPRCO member of any class or the guest of an AAPRCO member. Immediate family members (spouse, significant other, boyfriend, girlfriend, children, parents or siblings) of an AAPRCO car owner, whose car is part of an AAPRCO sponsored train, may travel as guests of that member. An AAPRCO member may invite a spouse or other individual as a guest to travel on an AAPRCO sponsored train. Museums or other entities that are AAPRCO members (at least one member of which must be designated as the Car Representative and that person must be an A member) whose car is participating in an AAPRCO sponsored train must ensure that their passengers comply with this requirement (ie. each additional co-owner or entity member must be an AAPRCO member or the guest of a member.) All persons staying on a car during a convention must be registered for the convention. Car owners/operators shall include in their pricing a $25.00 fee payable to AAPRCO for each passenger that is traveling on a day basis and not staying on the car. Passengers traveling with and staying on the car are not subject to this fee (it is covered in the car fee.) The AAPRCO Board of Directors voted at its March 2008 meeting to make Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland AAPRCO’s designated charity. In accordance with this decision all funds raised by means of this fee will be donated to Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland. An appropriate form designating same will be made available to each person contributing to this charity for income tax purposes. Each car that is part of an AAPRCO sponsored train is entitled to 2 crew members, each of whom shall be registered for the convention. Exception: Cars (especially high capacity cars) which are part of the train for the benefit of day riders on a single day event may have more working crew members as needed and they are not required to be registered for the convention provided they will not be in attendance on the car or at events during the convention. Car owners/operators must provide a manifest to the AAPRCO Executive Director by September 5, 2008 for the purpose of verifying that all passengers traveling on their cars meet the requirements of this policy and to generate badges for these passengers. Extra badges will be available to accommodate last minute additions to the manifest. All authorized passengers traveling on AAPRCO sponsored trains will be issued an ID badge. This badge must be presented to board the train and worn at all times while passenger is on the train. Rev 7/10/08 |
