  • 35th Annual Convention, 2012
    • Is That The Chattanooga Choo Choo? by Chase Gunnoe. AAPRCO held their 35th Annual Convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee, on September 27 through 29, 2012. Twenty-nine beautiful private passenger cars—the longest AAPRCO convention train ever—traversed rare mileage through spectacular autumn scenery from Washington, D.C., to Chattanooga and return. The train, named the Chattanooga Limited, was assembled at Washington's Ivy City Yard on Sunday, September 23. The special eased out of Washington Union Station on time, Monday, September 24, for its unique run down the route of the former Southern Railway’s Crescent Limited. Convention coverage includes a 2-page map showing routes and daily mileage. Photography in high-definition format by Chase Gunnoe graces the cover. Plenty of convention and special train photography. Note: PV 138 will contain additional convention train photos. We had too many great photos to keep them in the PV files!
    • Our Great Railroad Adventure by Borden Black. AAPRCO's new Executive Director, penned a fine sidebar highlighting her trip and that of other women on the train who found a lot more to like about private railcars than just traveling on Amtrak.
