The 2014 APPRCO Pine Tree Limited – So Long, Chicago!

In the words of Jackie Gleason, “And away we go!”

After being assembled yesterday, the Pine Tree Limited departed Chicago’s Union Station this morning at 9:44 am Central time, beginning the journey east to Portland, Maine. Here is the link to the convention information.

It is a fine consist, 26 cars in all, making quite the sight to see along the way.

It has been a long day, with extremely heavy traffic. Running almost 3 hours late, arriving in Toledo for the Amtrak crew change at 5:49 pm Eastern Time, and a quick departure at 5:55 pm. Arrival into Cleveland at the Norfolk Southern’s Rockport Yard was scheduled for a 2 hour trip. Should be a fine night to take in the city.
