Part of the LARail collection of vintage railcars, the Silver Splendor has a daytime capacity of 54 guests in a dome-diner-lounge floor plan. Sit-down dining for 48 with 24 in dome and 24 on main level. Full kitchen and bar. Six seats in the lounge area. Amtrak-compatible including push-pull. Fully self-contained for off-Amtrak excursions as well as stationary events. All new custom interior in tasteful colors.
Built in 1956 by the Budd Company for the Burlington Route’s Denver Zephyr, the car served the CB&Q as Vista Dome chair car No. 4735, Silver Buckle, until 1971. Amtrak continued to operate the car, with the number 9457, until its retirement in 1981. Purchased in 1997, the name was changed to Silver Splendor and the car has undergone a total rebuild from the wheels up.Inquire about this car
