Conventions

Since 1978, our annual convention has been the highlight of our year.

Between 1978 and 2017, AAPRCO worked with Amtrak and other host railroads to offer our members and their guests the ability to ride on annual convention special trains that often traveled over rail that had not seen passenger traffic in decades. These trips covered some rare mileage and provided scenic vistas for riders; they also provided our car owner members an opportunity for revenue producing excursions.  Unfortunately, due to a change in their management policies, Amtrak declined our requests to operate these special trains in 2018 and 2019.  However, we are working with Amtrak and other interested parties to restore our ability to operate these special excursion trains in 2020 and future years.
