I am honored to serve as your Executive Director. My first exposure to private railcars was in 2008 when I attended the convention in San Pedro, California. It was a delightful event, and I was hooked! Since then I have had the pleasure of attending other conventions, enjoying wonderful private railcar excursions, and most importantly — getting to know many AAPRCO members.
I am passionate about the American railroad story and the important role railroads play in building our nation and shaping our future. My hometown of Galesburg, Illinois, is a consummate railroad town.
Ms. Julie King
My work background is in state and federal government, including ten years in Washington, DC, where I served as Chief of Staff to a member of the U.S. House of Representatives and represented California agriculture clients at the public relations firm Robinson, Lake, Sawyer, Miller. For the last ten years, I have worked for the National Railroad Hall of Fame, where I continue to serve as the Executive Director. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degree from the University of Illinois.
My husband is the Market President at our local Wells Fargo Bank. We live on a farm, and in our spare time, we raise corn, soybeans, wine grapes, and two lovely daughters.
I look forward to getting to know more about all of you — our members — as time progresses. Please do not hesitate to contact me to offer suggestions, ask questions, or just to say “Hello.”
